As everyone knows I love clocks. Ray says I have too much "time on my hands." Any way Debi in her travels found this antique clock and she bought it for me. I reimbursed her for it and set it on my dresser thinking it didn't work. Well Steele got in a fixing mode and decided he was going to get it to work. He put some electrical tape on the cord and then plugged it in. He got a big shock. I told him that no wires could be touching so he re did it and it works. He's my fix it guy.

85th Birthday
Mom is having her 85th birthday on Monday. I'll have her blow our her candles on her cake at 7:30 p.m. for anyone who would like to come wish her a happy birthday. She's received a total of 18 cards so far so keep 'em coming.
Sneak Peak
Hi All,
I took some pictures of the Quilt Shop before their opening on Monday. I took Grandma Lois over to help Linda while Bruce came with me back to my house to help me fix a toilet. I had my favorite tree guy come and give me a bid on taking out the tree stump. $90 sure sounds like a great price after my efforts to dig it out. He will take out the pine tree in front as it is planted in the wrong place and will need to go. The other globe willow will need to go as well but not now. After Bruce fixed the laundry room toilet we met Linda and Grandma for lunch at Los Hermanos. Bridget joined us. Thanks Bruce!!

News Kids
Steele participated with the excellent readers with his school yesterday 09-02-08 for the Daily Herald News Kids program. He did a great job even though he just got his braces on and had a hard time speaking.

Tree Removal
Dan successfully chopped down two trees for me in my back yard. Dan brought his chainsaw when he came up this weekend when they dropped off the twins to college and Rachel. He took down one of my Globe Willow and a diseased Aspen tree. I wish I would have taken a before, during and after picture but all I got was the after. Oh well. Thanks to Dan, Phyllis, Rachel, Jared, Jason, Tyler, Mr. Orange, Sue, Nicole, Bridget, Steele for hauling everything to their trucks and taking it to the dumpster. Yeah!! Now I just have the stump to deal with.
Boy Scouts
Dan worked with Steele for the whole afternoon getting alot of his Tenderfoot and 1st Class taken care of. They worked on knots, first aid, fire building and cooking over a fire. Thanks Dan for an awesome job. Tyler helped out too. Steele has a campout this weekend with his 11 year old scout leader.
